Diagnóstico sobre preservación digital en bibliotecas de la Universidad Nacional del Sur

| Resumen: | El trabajo presenta un diagnóstico descriptivo del estado de situación de políticas de preservación digital, de una muestra de bibliotecas de la Universidad Nacional del Sur (UNS) de Argentina. Sobre el análisis de cinco bibliotecas, se busca analizar aquellos aspectos claves de la organización que permitirán mejorar o iniciar la gestión de sistemas de preservación digital a mediano y largo plazo. Dentro de ellos, se relevará el nivel: 1. de capacitación de su personal respecto al tema, 2. la infraestructura tecnológica de la biblioteca y su entorno, 3. la presencia o ausencia de políticas institucionales que propicien la conformación del sistema, 4. los flujos de trabajo que han sido definidos y ayudan u obstaculizan los procesos de preservación. Esta información servirá de base para la elaboración de un modelo preliminar de plan de preservación, que será replicado en las distintas bibliotecas de la UNS, como un instrumento facilitador de la comunicación y útil para motivar al trabajo colaborativo, mientras se avanza en la definición de los requerimientos de un sistema más completo y definitivo. Es preciso aclarar que dicho objetivo queda por fuera del alcance de este trabajo, el cual solo hace hincapié en algunas cuestiones que dicho plan debería abordar. The work presents a descriptive diagnosis of the state of the digital folding policies of a sample of libraries of the National University of the South (UNS) of Argentina. On the analysis of five libraries, the aim is to analyze those key aspects of the organization that will allow to start or improve the management of digital preservation systems in the mid and long term. Among them, the level of the following items will be surveyed: 1. Training of the staff on the subject 2. The technological infrastructure of the library and its surroundings 3. The presence or absence of institutional policies that promote the building of the system 4. The workflows that have been defined and help or hinder the preservation processes. The gathered information will serve as the basis for the elaboration of a preliminary model of a preservation plan that will be replicated in the different libraries of the UNS as a facilitating instrument of communication. In addition, this plan will be useful to motivate collaborative work while advancing in the definition of the requirements of a more complete and definitive system. It is necessary to clarify that the objective mentioned above is outside the scope of this work, which only emphasizes issues that the actual plan should address. |
