Expresiones no literales en la conversación coloquial : El caso de la hipérbole y la ironía

| Resumen: | Nuestro trabajo indaga sobre la naturaleza de la hipérbole y la ironía en la conversación informal y las funciones que dichas figuras retóricas realizan. Se llevó a cabo un análisis fundamentalmente cualitativo sobre el corpus del grupo ECAr (El Español Coloquial de Argentina) de conversaciones informales entre jóvenes. Del estudio surgió que, mientras que la hipérbole posee siempre un rasgo evaluativo, en la ironía este componente puede no estar presente. En cuanto a su comportamiento interactivo, vemos que la ironía surge siempre en un turno reactivo mientras que la hipérbole no se desprende necesariamente de una intervención anterior. En relación con las funciones pragmáticas que despliegan, encontramos que no siempre se manifiestan de igual forma. Las diferencias más ;interesantes se evidencian en el tipo de contrastes que proponen y la posibilidad de habilitar la protección del hablante. In this article we enquire into the nature of hyperbolic and ironic expressions in informal conversations and the functions they fulfil. A qualitative analysis was done of the ECAr corpus (Colloquial Spanish from Argentina) formed by informal conversations among youngsters. The study shows that, while the hyperbole always contains an evaluative feature, this characteristic might not necessarily be present in ironic expressions. As regards their interactive behaviour, there is evidence to believe that ironies emerge from the immediate linguistic context whereas hyperboles are not dependant on the previous turn. Their pragmatic functions are not always manifested in the same way. The most interesting differences are related to the type of contrast they show and the possibility to protect the speaker that one of the figures allows. |
