AB  - Recorreremos las diferentes connotaciones que fue imantando la figura del dios Pan en la literatura de la Antigüedad -con un muy breve paso por la Edad  Media  y  el  Renacimiento-  y  en  la  literatura  británica,  para  intentar aprehender el sinnúmero de simbologías que, a través de las lecturas y las influencias  sucesivas,  llegaron  hasta  el  contexto  histórico-cultural eduardiano (aprox. 1900-1914) y formaron parte de la estructura del sentir (Williams, 2000) dentro de la cual J. M. Barrie creó su personaje Peter Pan como re?creación de la deidad griega. Los dominios de Pan en Arcadia se conectan  con  la  literatura  para  niños,  ya  que  son  ellos  -junto  con  los poetas- quienes tienen todavía  permitido el acceso a ese lugar, y pueden oír el «llamado» que Peter/Pan hace con su flauta, del mismo modo en que ellos son quienes pueden disfrutar de esas lecturas y a quienes estas están dirigidas.
AB  - We  shall  go  through  the  various  connotations  the  image  of  the  god  Pan has  attracted  in  the  literature  of  the  Antiquity  -briefly  stopping  at  the Middle Ages and the Renaissance- and in British Literature, in order to try to  capture  the  countless  symbologies  that,  through  successive  readings and  influences,  reached  the  Edwardian  historical-cultural  context  (about 1900-1914),  and  were  part  of  the  structure  of  feeling  (Williams,  2000)  in which  J.  M.  Barrie  created  his  character  Peter  Pan  as  a  re-creation  of  the Greek  deity.  Pan's  domains  in  Arcadia  are  connected  to  Children?s Literature, since it is them who -along with poets- are still allowed access to  that  place,  and  can  hear  the  "calling"  that  Peter/Pan  makes  with  his pipes, as it is them who can enjoy these readings and to whom these are addressed.
