AB  - The book I Tusculanae Disputationes deals with different soul notions developed by  the  Greek  schools  of  philosophy  by  presenting  arguments  to  prove  the immortality  of  the  soul.  To  accomplish  this  task,  Cicero  allows  a  certain philosophical vocabulary in Latin, which creates a parallel to the psyche and noûs concepts. Cicero plays psyche by animus, when you want to designate something more general regarding the substance that remains to death, that is. On the other hand,  employs  mens  in  parallel  to  the  platonic  and  Aristotelic  noûs  as  animus intellectual  part.  However,  in  Tusc.  1.46,  uses  animus  rather  than  mens, appearing  to  be  the  employment  of  less  careful  terms.  In  view  of  this  problem, this  work  aims  to  present  the  main  passages  that  show  the  use  of  animus  and mens in Book I of Tusculanas Discussion, discussing the Platonic and Aristotelian foundations used by Cicero to establish the mens concept as part of animus.
AB  - O  livro  I  Tusculanae  Disputationes  trata  das  diferentes  noçoes  de  alma desenvolvidas pelas escolas gregas de filosofia, apresentando argumentos para  provar  a  imortalidade  da  alma.  Para  realizar  essa  tarefa,  Cícero possibilita  um  determinado  vocabulário  filosófico  em  latim,  que  cria  um paralelo para os conceitos psyche e noûs. Cícero reproduz psyche por animus, quando  quer  designar  algo  mais  geral  com  relaçao  a  substância  que subsiste  à  morte,  ou  seja.  Por  outro  lado,  emprega  mens,  em  paralelo  ao noûs  platônico  e  aristotélico,  como  parte  intelectual  de  animus.  Nao obstante, em Tusc. 1,46, utiliza animus no lugar de mens, aparentando ser o emprego  dos  termos  menos  criterioso.  Em  vista  dessa  problemática,  esse trabalho  tem  como  objetivo  apresentar  os  principais  trechos  que evidenciam  o  emprego  de  animus  e  mens  no  livro  I  das  Discussoes Tusculanas, discutindo os fundamentos platônicos e aristotélicos utilizados por Cícero para estabelecer o conceito mens como parte de animus.^lpt
