AB  - La villa de Castelló de la Plana tuvo una población que osciló entre un máximo de 1.110 hogares fiscales o fuegos en 1350 y un mínimo de 470 en 1511. El archivo municipal conserva actas municipales, libros del impuesto de la pecha, inscripciones de bienes de la corte del justicia, registros de compraventas y otros documentos que acreditan el crecimiento de la industria del cuero en los siglos XIV-XVI. El estudio prosopográfico realizado a partir del contraste de todas esas fuentes ha permitido identificar a más de un centenar de artesanos implicados en este sector artesanal, una minoría de los cuales logró aumentar su patrimonio con inmuebles, tierras y otros bienes que aquí se detallan. Y lo que es más interesante, algunos de ellos ocuparon los cargos más importantes del gobierno municipal como los Miró, Mas y Pasqual.
AB  - The town of Castelló de la Plana had a population that oscillated between a maximum of 1,110 taxed households in 1350 and a minimum of 470 in 1511. The municipal archive preserves good records, pecha tax books, inscriptions of assets from the court of justice, purchase and sale records and other documents that prove the growth of the leather industry in the 14th-16th centuries. ?e prosopographic study carried out from the contrast of all these sources has made it possible to identify more than a hundred artisans involved in this artisanal sector, a minority of whom managed to increase their properties with real estate, land and other assets detailed here. And what is more interesting, some of them held the most important positions in the municipal government such as the Miró, Mas and Pasqual.
