AB  - Este artículo sintetiza un primer avance de investigación formal en torno al trabajo crítico de Regina Elena Gibaja sobre las mitologías de "lo femenino" y los procesos de construcción y justificación de imagen de la mujer en el contexto cultural argentino del siglo XX a la luz de un enfoque de matriz marxista existencialista. Presenta así una lectura del proyecto intelectual e institucional desarrollado por Gibaja desde sus comienzos y formación en el grupo de las revistas Contorno y Centro hasta su posterior inserción aca-démica e institucional en el campo de la investigación sociológica aplicada latinoamericana. En ese marco, busca especialmente iluminar la labor política e intelectual de una autora por lo general excluida del reconocimiento tradicionalmente atribuido a los "hombres" de la llamada "generación del 55".
AB  - This article synthesizes a first advance of formal research on Regina Elena Gibaja's critical work on the my-thologies of 'the feminine' and the processes of construction and justification of the image of women in the Argentine cultural context of the twentieth century in the light of a Marxist- existentialist matrix approach. It thus presents a reading of the intellectual and institutional project developed by Gibaja from his beginnings and formation in the group of the journals Contorno and Centro to his later academic and institutional inser-tion in the field of Latin American applied sociological research. Within this framework, it seeks especially to illuminate the political and intellectual work of an author generally excluded from the recognition traditionally attributed to the "men" of the so-called "generation of '55".
