AB  - El artículo analiza fragmentos de algunas fuentes escritas en relación con las revueltas esclavas, especialmente Ateneo de Náucratis y Diodoro Sículo. Se trata de observar la manera en que la revuelta y el control sobre los esclavos son percibidos desde la perspectiva del discurso hegemónico dominante. Igualmente, desde un plano teórico, se analiza el impacto que pueden haber tenido estas revueltas para la pervivencia de la esclavitud en la medida en que la historiografía moderna generalmente ha planteado que las revueltas no tenían un fundamento revolucionario, puesto que no cuestionaban la existencia de la esclavitud.
AB  - We study in this article fragments of some sources relating to slave revolts, especially Athenaeus of Naucratis and Diodorus Siculus. We analize how the slaves revolts and the control over the slaves are perceived from the perspective of the dominant hegemonic discourse. Also, from a theoretical level, we analyze the impact that these revolts may have had over the persistence of slavery in the extent to which the modern historiography has generally argued that the riots did not have a revolutionary basis since they do not put into question the existence of slavery.
