Ruta de la Seda vs. Covid-19 : Balance de la Iniciativa de la Franja y la Ruta en época de pandemia y crisis mundial

| Resumen: | El año 2020 estuvo fuertemente atravesado por la pandemia de Covid-19, no solamente en términos sanitarios, sino también económicos, políticos y geopolíticos. Los efectos económicos de la pandemia se han sentido especialmente en las potencias del norte global, mientras que la contraparte han sido los países emergentes y en desarrollo en general y los del Asia Pacífico en particular. Esta situación es reflejo de una tendencia estructural en el sistema mundial contemporáneo: el declive hegemónico del orden mundial configurado luego de Bretton Woods y el ascenso de China y del Asia Pacífico como los nuevos centros de gravedad de la geopolítica mundial. En este marco, el presente trabajo se propone realizar un balance del desempeño de una de las principales herramientas geoestratégicas de la República Popular China: la Iniciativa de la Franja y la Ruta o la Nueva Ruta de la Seda, en un contexto de grandes realineamientos geopolíticos, crisis estructural y pandemia. The year 2020 was strongly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, not only in health terms, but also in economic, political and geopolitical terms. The economic effects of the pandemic have been felt especially in the powers of the global north, while the counterpart has been the emerging and developing countries in general and those of the Asia Pacific in particular. This situation is a reflection of a structural trend in the contemporary world system: the hegemonic decline of the world order configured after Bretton Woods and the rise of China and Asia Pacific as the new centers of gravity of world geopolitics. In this framework, the present work intends to take stock of the performance of one of the main geostrategic tools of the People's Republic of China: the Belt and Road Initiative or the New Silk Road, in a context of great geopolitical realignments. , structural crisis and pandemic. |
