AB  - El tema de la inmortalidad en el aquende que el poeta obtiene con su poesía y la que confiere a los que canta, rehúye el ámbito estrecho de la musa pedestris y reclama un ritmo y una métrica distinta de la yámbica de los Epodos o del hexámetro coloquial y entrecortado de las Sátiras. Horacio encuentra en la métrica eolia, alcaica y sáfica,  la conexión apropiada entre tópico y tipo de metro adecuada a sus Odas.
AB  - The subject of immortality on this world that the poet achieves with his poetry, and also the one that he grants to those he sings to, avoids the narrow ambit of the musa pedestris and claims different rhythms and meters from the iambic Epodes and the broken and colloquial hexameters of the Satires. Horace finds in the aeolian, alcaic and sapphic meters the appropriate connexion between the topic and the metre for his Odes.
